Install a PC in your car with MPD and a Car2PC adapter, and use mpc-car2pc to make it pretend to be a CD changer so that you can control it from your car stereo.

We could fairly easily add iPod emulation, so you can use any iPod adapter.

We could also make it talk directly to the internal bus on many cars, instead of requiring the Car2PC adapter.
