August 26, 2011 - Forum reopened

August 03, 2011 - Latest mpd/ffmpeg issues

Lately a change in ffmpeg introduced crashing issues in mpd. This issue has been fixed in ffmpeg and also mpd now has a fix to handle broken ffmpeg installations, so please update both. If you cannot update for any reason, you can disable ffmpeg in mpd.conf by adding "decoder { plugin "ffmpeg" enabled "no" }".

MPD version 0.16~alpha2 has been released. As usual for new major versions, this version is another evolutionary step forward for MPD and includes way too many changes to include or even highlight here. Since alpha1 this adds fixes for regression fixes presented in 0.15.11 and 0.15.12; this release also fixes a couple of memory leaks and adds a few new tag features to some decoders.
